When I'm Back

lengthy entry, beware.

but first, here's pictures from outing with bestie!

right. the rest of the pictures are up at shutterfly!

okay. so obs is done with! it was a whole new experience i guess. really makes you think back and appreciate all the things we always take for granted right back here on mainland singapore. it was fun i guess, if you minus the icky bathing and sleeping conditions. campsite 2 have the worst toilets ever, enduring to bathe whilst creepycrawlies are crawling right next to you proved to be too much for me to handle so i went a day without bathing. i did wipe myself with sok's hygienic wipes okay! notetoself, next obs trip, bring lots of powder and wipes!

my watch's made up of people whom you wont normally see talking to each other in school. we've got mostly the performing arts/clubs people, and i was the only trugger in my watch. thank goodness i have nerine, and yueli, they made my life over at ubin a whole lot more bearable. by being in the watch, i've seen the best and the worst of some people, and its really interesting to see how some people work their way into the group. we've got some team players, and some who just stand there and talk like they've got lots of experience but then OOPS, no action. and there were also some people who dont even talk, they just stand there and watch the rest do the work. nevertheless, it was good to know more people, no matter how detestable some of them are. haha.

i cant really remember the details of our camp now, but i know some of the activities which will stay with me for a long long time. first will definitely be the sea expedition. i've never kayaked before, much less had experience holding a paddle. i wanted to partner nerine initially, but thank goodness we changed partners, because it wasnt a good idea to have two bitching good pals on the kayak for 7/8 hours. we'll use up all our energy for bitching and will surely drift away and get lost on the open sea. i got partnered with this guy called terence, and i swear he thinks im a bimbo. i didnt understand the kayaking terms he used, haha, until now i dont even know what holding water means. and kayaking 7hours straight is no easy feat. i had to hold my pee for 3/4 hours cos peeing in the sea was not my kinda thing. and my arms and fingers were aching like crazy! the last part of our vayage was really tough cos not only was everyone already too damn exhausted, we were against the currents too, and we had to paddle really hard to stay in formation and not to get swept away. had a few close shaves, thank goodness we didnt capsize! i'd seriously cry. it felt seriously damn good though, to be able to complete the sea expedition. now i can proudly say i've kayaked round the whole island of ubin (: next goal, kayak all the way to batam baby! and im taking the back seat, thankyou very much.

another set of activities which i loved was the high elements. we did the jetty jump, which was the least scariest of the three jumps we had to do. we did that twice, feels damn good, though i got kinda scared the first time round. next up was flying fox, that one literally took a leap of faith. it was when the instructor tells you to take the step off when you really feel the shivers. and my scream just own everybody else's! cool or not. the third and last jump was the scariest, it was the trapeze jump. i managed to get hold of the bar which looked like it was 17454872m away from the plank. and okay, i screamed again. haha. bungee jumping is still on my 'things to do before i die' list, so these wont be my last jumps!

amongst these, there were the not-so-fun activities like outdoor cooking/tentpitching and other mundane stuff. everything tastes good when you're outdoors and hungry. i learnt alot on how to survive the outdoors in the wild, i just hope i wont actually get to use them!

obs, in all, had been a memorable camp. now that its over, all i have left of it are bruises, sandfly bites and a pathetic photograph of my watch which isnt even autographed on. given the chance, i think i might sign up for the 9day course, but this time with the whole truggers team! that'd be so much fun. hell yeah.

so right after obs, we had training, it was good to see the girls again!
and on saturday, we had to meet at 9 to collect the standard chartered marathon race packs. 10km, and we havent even started training. as joke would've said, we good game alrd. haha! we'll just use our newly acquired positive mental skills to push on wont we? i hope it'd be fun! (or more like hellish, actually).

sunday was the long awaited beach touch! most of us were still peeling from last week's training+tanning session at sentosa. i was in pj hearts with charlene, shum, yani, jiayi. we got into the pool with TP, RP, MI, SR and LFS. LFS girls are darn cute! esp gill. congrats to deb's group for getting fourth! whoo. gehui should've been here, she would've been in the same group as me! got lotsa freebies, and we've got shirts too. i love carnivals with shirts! team dinner afters at the deck again, then it was arcade for some airhockey and watching some of them battle it out in the racing game. B&J's for deserts. lovely way to end a lovely day (: okay pictures are up next! pictures are in order according to how old they are! more in shutterfly. right. out now!]
